Children's Birthday Invitations

Claudia Forward - Thursday, April 28, 2011
One of our favourite things to do is create children's birthday invitations.

It seems to release a special form of creativity in us. Perhaps we are influenced by the innocence shining out of those little faces.

Kids birthday invitations need to be special and look special because they ARE special.  You've probably kept all the special cards from your child's 1st birthday and on through the years.  They are something to treasure, aren't they?

Have a look at these cute birthday invitations.

How well they show the personality of the children and that makes them special and memorable.

We personalise the colours and wording to suit every photo that comes in.  That's how we help capture the personality of your child.

Don't just buy those mass produced birthday cards when the occasion is so very special.  Ask us work with you to create something that you will keep forever.

Pirate Birthday Parties

Claudia Forward - Tuesday, January 18, 2011
Children's birthday parties are always fun but if you can build them around a theme they look so much more exciting.  It is not hard to develop a look for your theme especially when there are some excellent party supplies stores available online.

I decided to use 'pirate' as a theme for my party and went off to see what I could find.  These products are just some of the clever decorations that I found.

Pirate Themed Party Decorations
1.  Pirate Centrepiece from The Spotty Napkin
2.  Pirate Cupcake decorating set from The Spotty Napkin
3.  Pirate Pinata Pull from The Spotty Napkin
4.  Pirate Bunting from The Spotty Napkin
5.  Pirate Foil Balloon from Speckled Freckle
6.  Treasure Chest Party Box from Speckled Freckle
7. Buried Treasure Napkins from Speckled Freckle

and then there's the cake..... Perhaps something like Captain Jack here?  This gorgeous cake is from Sweetcheeks Cookies and Cakes

Now do you see what I mean when I say that a theme gives added excitement to an occasion?   It's a lot of fun to put together, too.

Birthday Cards are also a great Memory

Claudia Forward - Monday, September 20, 2010
I am currently designing a summary photobook for 2009. In the process, I started going through the kids memorabelia boxes, and realised that there are more than photos that should be included in this photobook.

So today's tip is to take a photograph of the meaningful birthday cards that you receive. Why? It keeps everything together, you don't need to store all your cards, and then if you decide to have a photobook designed, it's ready!

How to take the photograph:
  • Background: Lay a white table cloth or sheet down (preferably ironed)
  • Turn your camera flash on (forced flash)
  • Take the photo at an angle
Note: this will avoid the flash reflecting on the card
Below is the double spread from our photobook that incorporates the cards. I took a photo of the cards together, as these represent all his interests at the time - Spiderman, Bob the Builder, Frogs etc.

Hair and Beauty Birthday Party

Claudia Forward - Wednesday, August 11, 2010

A last minute birthday party idea, turned into one of the best parties we have had for our 4 year old little princess. Arianne, is a girly girl – dress ups, make up, dolls, dancing – anything girly. So we decided to make it a hair and make up party. We hired a hair dresser to do the hair, and then a couple of mums did their nails and make up. What a success! The girls had a ball – the grins and the excitement on their precious little faces were gorgeous.

Below is the thank you card we sent out - don't all the girls look gorgeous!
